WHY SHE DOES IT
Kelly was raised in a multi-generational household with her two brothers, two parents and two grandmothers. While her mom and dad were busy working, Kelly spent many afternoons watching soap operas, eating homemade Chex Mix, and playing Bridge with people 50 and 60 years her senior.
At this young age, her values were clear – friendships were never about age, race, gender, politics, or religion – she’s always felt all people deserve dignity, respect and joy, especially her elders.
Through her elder care consulting work, Kelly noticed a disturbing trend; her clients were denying themselves the care and support they needed because they didn’t want to be seen as “old.” No one does. All human beings deserve to be honored, cherished and celebrated every day of their lives, especially those who have been blessed to live a long life. Kelly joined the #EndAgeism movement and has dedicated her life to being a champion for older adults.
